Christmas Run

Date

December 2023 (date TBC)

Where

The run will start and end at New Cambridge House, Bassingbourn Road, Litlington, SG8 0SS. You can see the 10k route on Strava https://www.strava.com/routes/3018192686596728908

When

Everyone runs in a group based on the time it takes to complete the distance. The starting time for each group is staggered to try to ensure that all runners finish at a similar time, but the first group usually heads off around 8.40am. We will be mailing out starting times closer to the date.

We are once again looking for group leaders for this run, so please do get in touch by email (social(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)roystonrunners.co.uk) if you’re happy to lead a group.

What is it?

The Christmas Run is a really fun and festive 10k run (we hope there will also be a 5k option) around Litlington, usually run in fancy dress (not essential but very much encouraged/ standard)!

After the run, we provide a bacon or sausage butty (vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available) and a cup of tea or coffee. The morning will finish with a raffle, raising money for our chosen charity of the year.

All are very welcome to come and run, even if you can’t stay for breakfast.

Where does it start?

The event starts outside New Cambridge House in Bassingbourn but we ask all runners to arrive at least 5 minutes before your intended start time.

How much does it cost?

The exact cost for taking part is still to be confirmed. We also suggest people bring along cash on the day so you can take part in the raffle.

How do I book?

Online booking details will be available shortly.

What food options are there?

When booking runners will be asked to select what they would like to eat after the run

What raffle prizes are available?

We ask that all runners provide an item for the raffle if possible – it can be anything that you would like to win yourself! If you are happy to donate please let us know (social(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)roystonrunners.co.uk)

Is there car parking available?

There is car parking at the venue, but we suggest people car share where possible, or if you’re feeling particularly energetic, you could run there and back!

Do I have to dress up?

You don’t need to dress up to take part although most people do!

Who will I run with?

We are expecting this to be a popular event so expect that people will be able to run with people from their normal Tuesday night group.
